Tom Brady
When I watched Super Bowl LI last night, I was so moved to see Tom Brady make history. The joy I felt was like listening to Mozart playing his Sinfonia concertante in E-Flat major or seeing Van Gogh painting his Starry Night. Oh, how a mortal like us can achieve such a great height even angles may envy!An interesting article about the miraculous come back of New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI is here: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18628154/tom-brady-goat-super-bowl-51-nfl-2017-new-england-patriotsWhat I like the most from the article are the two excerpts below:'[S]omeone asked Tom Brady what he thought a fifth Super Bowl ring might mean to his personal legacy. ... "I don't think anything about a personal legacy," the New England Patriots quarterback said." I mean, those words would never come out of my mouth unless I just repeated them. Those things have never been important to me."''His dad, Tom Brady Sr., whom Brady referred to as his hero, but in particular, his mom, Galynn, who has been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. Brady choked back tears twice in the lead-up to the game when asked about his parents. ... He dedicated the game to her and posted pictures of his parents on Instagram throughout the week.'His humility in the midst of his greatest shines beyond the accolade he collected from the victory. At the end of the game, I had a question in my mind: "where does his superman-like drive come from?" I realize now that the unconditional, sacrificial love of parents is the strongest motivation behind his greatest. Want to breed another Tom Brady? Be that parent first!
